Welwyn Garden City Band

3rd Section Brass Band Musical Director : Mr. Duncan Wilson

The Welwyn Garden City Band is a traditional British brass band. It was formed in 1934.
As well as contest successes and concerts, the Band has made television appearances, radio broadcasts, recordings, overseas tours and performed for the late Queen Mother at Hatfield House.
In addition to contests and park concerts, the Band also plays at private functions and events and would welcome any organisations or individuals who may be interested in booking the Band to get in touch with us.
Twenty-five brass players plus percussionists are the standard composition of a brass band and Welwyn Garden City Band is always on the lookout for new players on all relevant instruments to augment its ranks. As the Band is a contesting and concert band, players need to be of a reasonable standard - at least Grade V. If there are any suitable players of any age (our current age range is 13 to 74) who may be interested in joining the Band or, at least, finding out more about it, please contact us.
