This Girl Can returns to Welwyn Hatfield

As we begin to see restrictions ease and many clubs returning to sport and physical activity we are pleased to announce that the 'This Girl Can' campaign will return to Welwyn Hatfield between the 14-20 June 2021.

The national Sport England campaign aims to promote and encourage women and girls to participate in sport and physical activity by breaking down the barriers that are currently preventing them from participating, whilst also celebrating active women who are doing their thing no matter how they do it, how they look or even how sweaty they get.

This year we will be working with clubs and organisations to deliver a physical and virtual offering of activities across the week, and these sessions will be promoted on the Councils event calendar. https://one.welhat.gov.uk/  and here on the Healthy Hub sports and exercise events calendar

We understand that some restrictions will still be in place but if you're already running a session during that week then we can promote it on our calendar to try and engage with new women and girls, or you may want to deliver a one off session which follows government guidelines.

We're encouraging as many clubs and organisations to deliver an activity during the campaign and the deadline for returning your completed form and risk assessment is Friday 4 June, and these need to be returned to sport@welhat.go.uk
